STCC - Swedish Touring Car Championship
The rules in brief is: Engine max 2 litre with a rev limit of 8500 rpm, chassi have to be standard.
But the cars have been modified to the limit. Racingbrakes, the latest racingdampers and 17 inch slicks from Michelin.
STCC and Swedish motorsport is hot. It is the most visited, mostly writed and popular motorsport event I Sweden. STCC have grown to one of Europe’s most well know championships.
2008 STCC every race will be live broadcasted on SVT 24. A 90 minute program, on Sunday evening there will be a 50 min after race show. and on Monday after race another 30 in program. Johan Thoren is the producer.
Infront of the TV at home around 600 000 people see every program and enjoy the best motorsport avaiable in Sweden. the media coverage beat all the records. Only in the newspaper Expressen over 7.6 million people read about STCC according to an investigation by Cision AB.
At every race 14 000 people in avarage come to see the races. To the final 2007 there where 24 500 people!
The championship has 11 races between April and October.
